Why we started Kyvran
Most how-to content online falls into one of two traps. It is either thin and padded — a couple of obvious tips wrapped in filler, stock photos, and pop-ups — or it is a sales pitch dressed up as advice. Either way you often leave more confused than when you arrived. We wanted a third option: clear, honest, genuinely useful guides written by people who care about getting the details right.
Kyvran started in 2026 as a small set of notes between people who kept answering the same questions for everyone around them. Those notes turned into guides, and the guides turned into this. Today we publish across 4 areas — maintenance & care, buying & selling, evs & new tech, ownership & road trips — all built on the same belief: good, plain guidance beats hype every time, and the best advice is the kind you can actually act on.
How we work
Every guide is written or edited by someone with real, hands-on experience of the topic. We favour depth over volume, we revisit and update guides as things change, and we are upfront about what we don't know. When we suggest a tool, a product, or an approach, it is because we'd suggest it to a friend — not because someone paid us to.
We are also clear about our limits. Kyvran offers general information and opinion, not professional advice tailored to your situation. He founded Kyvran to demystify car ownership for people who just want a reliable car and a fair deal. He explains the why behind every job, and he's honest about which ones are worth doing yourself.
Carla believes basic car care shouldn't require a mechanic's paycheck or a mechanic's ego. She writes clear, safety-first guides to the maintenance any owner can handle in a driveway, and she's upfront about the limits — when a job needs a lift, a torque wrench, or a professional. Her aim is a car that starts every morning and costs you less to keep.
Sven has driven everything from clapped-out hatchbacks to the latest EVs, and he cuts through the hype in both directions. He writes about electric cars, new tech, and smart buying with real numbers and real trade-offs, not marketing. He's less interested in what's exciting than in what will actually serve you well for years.
